A Day Of Art Around New York City

I have been to New York more times that I can count. I love this city, as soon as I get off the plane I feel this energy that makes me feel like I can do anything. I wanted to spend one of my days here doing something different than the usual Time Square or Central Park. Don’t get me wrong I love these places but I really wanted to do something out of the ordinary.

My friends who I was visiting are artists and suggested we spend the day looking at some of the best art in town.We started out at Chelsea. This is such a beautiful neighborhood and full of murals and street art like this one by Mr. Brainwash. (more about him later)

(Side note)I also found some of the best empanadas I’ve ever had. I highly recommend you follow @lasonrisafoods to find all their delicious food.

We continued our way to different Art galleries on 14th street. They had many interesting exhibitions. The one that caught my eye the most was this wall full of post-it notes with bizarre messages like this.

Once you walk a little further you realize it form a photos of Donald Trump with all the quotes he has said in the past years.

We walked a little further and came across Mr. Brainwash’s pop up gallery. You might know him from the Banksy documentary “Exit through the gift shop” . Whether you’re a fan of his art or not it’s worth checking out his show.

Finally we got on the train and headed to the Brooklyn Art Museum. Our main reason for doing so? This gigantic sculpture by we’ll known artist KAWS. It’s quite impressive to see in person and well worth the 14 metro stops to get to the museum.

If you come to NYC make sure to take time and appreciate all the art the city has to offer. Until Next time Littlefinders!
