Hi, LittleFinders! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. If you are anything like me, I know you have some New Year’s resolutions planned. A lot of people think resolutions set you up for failure, but to the contrary, I feel New Year’s resolutions motivate me and make me accountable for what I want to make out of the year. Ever since the week before New Year’s, I started running every morning and making sure I buy groceries so I can eat healthier. I always choose to go to Walmart because, honestly, it has the cheapest prices and the biggest selection.

With my new meal plan and exercise routine, of course, I am drinking lots of water, but sometimes I crave something with a little bit more flavor. That’s why I am so excited about all the flavors V8 juices offers. I know what you are thinking, isn’t V8 juice tomato juice? Or as my parents call it, “Jugo de Tomate.” Sure, they still offer their classics, however, V8 also offers so many varieties like Strawberry Banana, Pomegranate, Blueberry and my favorite, Peach Mango! It has the perfect amount of vegetable blend with a lite sweet taste, to help me fight those sweet afternoon cravings! It’s 100 percent juice, so I don’t feel guilty or like I am cheating on my new year’s resolution.

Growing up in Mexico City, I loved going to the “Mercado” and getting a juice made, but when we moved to the United States, that was no longer an option. My Abuelita always had the idea that if a juice came in a bottle there was no way it could taste good. Even when I mentioned to my dad that I would be writing about V8, he mentioned my Abuela, which I found pretty funny.
V8 Juice can be easily found in the Juice aisle at Walmart
Well, Abuelita, I love you but you are wrong. Hispanic families can sometimes have a misconception about V8 juice only being tomato juice or not having a variety of flavors, but ever since we moved to the United States and my uncle introduced us to all the flavors V8 has to offer, my Papa and Mama make sure to add it to their grocery list every time they go to Walmart. I also keep a bottle in the office fridge so I can have a glass whenever I am in the mood. Nothing better than a cold glass of my Peach Mango V8 juice in the middle of an editing session.

If you want to stick to a healthy eating plan, I highly recommend using a planner. Here I plan the days I will go to Walmart to get groceries, the days I workout and what days that are free for me to cheat a little bit. I also write what flavor of V8 juice to bring to the office for the week.
Of course, I also write other important events like fiestas and dinner with my “familia.” I love getting together at my parent’s Mexican restaurant for dinner and knowing they always have V8 in the fridge for me to have. You have to love how much they have changed their mind about bottled juices since we moved from Mexico. I’d like to think if my grandmother was alive today, she would think the flavors are delicious too.
This year is already starting to be awesome, and I feel my resolutions are staying in place.
Eating healthier: Check! Thanks to V8 and a meal plan, I have been able to stay on track.
Saving money: Check! Shopping at Walmart has been a big part of that. And, of course, resisting buying another pair of shoes.
