Eye Candy with Derek Gores and Electric Oranges

It was a packed house last Saturday at Derek Gore’s Gallery in Melbourne. This was my first time attending a show here and boy was I impressed.

Let me start by saying besides owning the gallery, Derek is a super talented artist, from New York to Sydney his work is exhibited all over the world. How amazing is this collage?

I also completely fell in love with his lingerie wet charcoal paintings. What do you guys think?

I had only been here for five minutes and;

A) I was ready to buy everything I had seen

B) This show had surpassed all of my expectations.

The theme for January’s show was Eye Candy. The night was a combination of art, fashion and music. Every detail of the gallery fit the “Eye Candy” theme. The drinks, the décor, the models and, of course, the amazing fashion brought to us by Electric Oranges all fit together.

Electric Oranges is a pop-up, upcycled vintage boutique created by best friends Carly Sinigoi and Sarah Starling. This boutique has some of the cutest clothes I have ever seen at some of the most affordable prices. Everything in their pop-up show ran from as low as $7 up to $100 for some beautiful party gowns.

For Eye Candy, Electric Oranges created a lingerie fashion show. The looks were beautiful, The models were fierce and the crowd went nuts!

Right outside the gallery, the party continued. People could buy pieces from Electric Oranges, indulge themselves with some delicious sweets or just relax in these super decked out chairs.

I had such a great time at “Eye Candy and if it wasn’t for the terrible Sinus infection I had I would have stayed there until I gotten kicked out. Luckily Electric Oranges is now a permanent pop show at Derek Gores Gallery and, of course, there are a ton more shows to coming up this year.

As far as “Eye Candy it will be displayed all month”. Also, make sure to give Derek Gore’s Gallery a like on facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on all the events. Trust me you won’t want to miss any of them.
