Hi, guys! It’s the middle of the week and I can feel the weekend getting closer and closer. Time sure is flying, can you believe it’s June already? I love summers, even though is very hot in Florida, it is great to see the sun shining and the flowers fully blooming. It reminds me of the tropical vacations we would take growing up while growing up in Mexico.

I recently purchased all® Fresh Tropical Mist™ and their new scent “Fresh Tropical Mist” it’s really bringing the tropics to my home. I feel like it transports me to some of my favorite tropical places like Cancun or Puerto Vallarta. I was able to find it at Dollar General and not only do I love the scent but also the price. It costs 30% less than the leading brand and my clothes smell so fresh and flowery. I never had such a good smelling detergent before, plus you guys know I am messy and all® Fresh Tropical Mist takes care of the toughest stains.  I actually look forward to doing laundry. (I never thought those words would come out of my mouth)

I really wanted to spread a similar scent to the rest of my home, and that’s when I remember a way my mom would do it. Living in Mexico city, my mom LOVED keeping a fresh home and when we moved to the U.S. she continued to keep our house smelling good. She used potpourri bags and put them in different places throughout our home. Latinos take pride in their home smelling good and I love passing on tutorials from generation to generation so here you go!

To create this potpourri bags all you need is the following:

  • A bag of potpourri
  • Lace or Crinoline
  • Ribbon
  • Or you can find pre-made lace bags in the wedding section of your favorite crafts store.

While shopping for all® Fresh Tropical Mist™ at Dollar General, I came across Tropical mist potpourri. Then I headed to a crafts store to find some lace fabric and ribbon but luckily found these pre-made bags.

materials

I simply put a good amount of potpourri in each bag and easily pulled the ribbon to make sure it all stays in. You want to make sure to use a fabric like lace or crinoline to make sure the scent it’s not closed in. This way you get the most of the lovely smell. The bag of potpourri will get you quite a few little bags to put throughout your home, and they also make a great gift! Now you are ready for your home to smell tropical and fresh.

bags

My favorite part of the home to place them in is my drawers and closet. My clothes already smell so good by using all® Fresh Tropical Mist, but these tiny little potpourri bags, sure bring the tropics to the rest of my home.
