I love trying new restaurants, but I have to say I’ve never really thought about all the great places that are inside some of Orlando’s best hotels.
With Magical Dining Month happening in September (if you don’t know about it read here!) I am starting to explore a lot of new places that I’ve never visited before. Recently, I got invited to the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for a happy hour with some of my favorite bloggers.
The Hyatt Regency is one of my favorite hotels in town, especially the pool! Mauricio and I have stayed here several times because it’s so close to the parks. Little did we know of the hidden gems that are here inside the hotel including Hemingway’s (which is featured is this month’s magical dining menu) but also Hurricanes! Where we had an amazing happy hour.
It all started with their signature drink the Papo Doble made by veteran mixologist, Fred Rhodes, who has been working at the Hyatt for over 30 years!
The Papo Doble is known to be a favorite drink of Ernest Hemingway and it’s a mix of Bacardi Light, Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, Orange, Pineapple & Grapefruit Juices plus Grenadine. It was DELICIOUS! It paired so well with all the happy hour food items. Move over Hemingway this is now one of my favorite drinks too!
After the drinks, we got to try the new bar snacks. We started with an awesome assorted cheese board:
Have I mentioned I adore cheese.
Plantain Chips and Avocado: (The avocado aioli was so delicious I wanted to put it on everything!)
And finally, the two items that changed my life:
Truffle Herb Popcorn: O.M.G. this is by far the best popcorn I’ve ever had in my life. Everyone loved it so much, that they even gave us popcorn to go.
Key Lime Pie: Someone in the group mentioned how good the key lime pie from Hemingway’s was and the next thing you know it was at our table. Absolutely DELICIOUS! and to be honest I’m not even a huge fan of key lime pie, but this one won me over!
All the food was absolutely delicious, but what made the experience so much better was the staff, From the greeter, the chef, the bartenders and even the valet staff, everyone at the Hyatt was extremely nice. I would not hesitate at all to come back, no only to stay at the hotel but of course to visit Hemingway’s and Hurricane’s.
I will definitely be back for both happy hour and dinner and I hope you swing by too. If you do, tell them LailasLittlefinds sent ya over and make sure to tell me all about your experience in the comment section. Have a wonderful week Littlefinders and until next time!
