Hello, My Littlefinders! It is hard to believe June is right around the corner, however, this month holds a special place in my heart. This is the month I met my boyfriend Mauricio and June 2018 will be 10 YEARS since.

Throughout this decade I think we had every type of date you can think of, but this month we wanted to do something special and meaningful. While brainstorming a couple of ideas, we decided to help our local food bank. Feeding America® is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger. It has 200 member food banks across the nation and you can find your local food bank here

Once we knew where to donate, we looked in our pantry for items, but also headed to Target for some additional things. While we were there, we picked our favorite Gold Peak® tea. Our love for tea is something that has always brought us together, and now it’s bringing us together to do good. Gold Peak is partnering with Feeding America to help fight hunger, so we knew helping our local food bank was the perfect date.

We went through their website and looked at the “Most Needed Items” list. I recommend you do this prior to collecting, that way you are making sure you are donating things they really need. While on the website, we also found a time slot for us to actually go to the food bank and volunteer sorting food. We are scheduled for June 18th, What a better way to spend time together than helping people or families in need, (plus you know we will bring a little cooler with some Gold Peak in it). These are a couple of other ways you can get involved:

Gold Peak is partnering with Feeding America to provide meals to people in need. Text “GIVE” to 26739 and Gold Peak will donate a $1 to Feeding America Every $1 donated provides at least 10 meals to people in need*! Plus you can help your local food bank get a $1,000 donation by clicking here.  It takes less than a minute and it can make a huge difference! (The 10 food banks with the most support will each receive a $1,000 donation)

I know life can get busy, and its hard to find time to volunteer, but I encourage you to find some easy ways to help your local food bank with your loved one. What a better way than spend time together than doing good.

*Provide boxed goods or groceries to people, the food banks do NOT provide hot meals.
